DMX arrested on multiple charges at JFK Airport

NEW YORK (AP) - DMX faces a possible prison term of seven years after being arrested and charged with numerous offences including criminal possession of a weapon, impersonating a federal agent, theft, destruction of property, and possession of crack cocaine.
According to charges filed by the Queens District Attorney, DMX crashed his sport-utility vehicle, which prosecutors said was equipped with lights and sirens, through a parking lot gate at John F. Kennedy International Airport after he falsely stated to the attendant that he was a federal agent.
DMX was accompanied by a male friend identified as Jackie Hudgins.
A search of their vehicle recovered a billy club and a plastic bag containing multiple rocks of crack cocaine, according to authorities.
The complaint also indicated that DMX ordered a driver at an adjacent parking space to get out of his vehicle. When the man refused, DMX allegedly identified himself as an FBI agent, grabbed the driver's seat belt buckle, and tried to pull him from the vehicle.
DMX, 33 and Jackie Hudgins, 41, were arrested shortly afterward.

According to court documents, DMX claims he had been cut off by the other car. Hudgins said he had tried to calm X down, and that if he had paid the $9 parking fee the incident would not have happened.
Hudgins said he had given DMX the $9 to pay the fee, court documents said. But instead of paying the fee he turned on the SUV's lights and sirens then crashed the gate, possibly to try and catch up with the other vehicle.
Prosecutors said that when DMX was taken into custody he had hundreds of dollars of cash on him and a loaded gun.
Both DMX and Hudgins were charged with criminal possession of a weapon and controlled substance. DMX is also charged with criminal mischief, impersonation of a federal agent, menacing, driving under the influence, assault, theft, and other offenses. He was additionally charged with endangering the welfare of a child because the other driver's 13-year-old daughter was in the car at the time.
DMX and Hudgins were arraigned in Queens Criminal Court late Friday before Judge Stephen Knopf, who set bail of $15,000.
They were scheduled to return to court on July 23.
