Takedown & Corrections Policy
Rapchive is a non-commercial historical archive. Stories are reproduced as they circulated on public Usenet newsgroups, with the publication and byline credited wherever the post stated them.
If you hold the rights
If you are the rights holder of an article in this archive and want it removed, or want its credit corrected, email takedown@rapchive.com with the story's address (the rapchive.com/news/… link). We will act within seven days, and usually much faster. No forms, no lawyers required.
If you appear in a story
The archive publishes journalism about public figures as it was reported at the time. If a story about you is a fabrication or was retracted by its original publisher, tell us at the same address and we will review it against the record and remove or annotate it.
What we already do
- The private individuals who reposted these articles to Usenet are never named. Addresses and signatures are stripped by the pipeline and verified absent on every build.
- Known fabrications are excluded from publication when found.
- Every story links its original source when the post credited one.
