The California Board of Prison Terms decided to drop charges against Shawn Thomas (known as C-Bo) who was arrested earlier this month for releasing "violent lyrics" in his new album -- which was believed to be a violation of his parole agreement to refrain from "activities promoting a gang lifestyle or anti-law enforcement sentiments."
Although charges were dropped over the lyrics controversy, a judge still sentenced him to an additional three months in prison for failing a drug test for marijuana.
He was also given a one-month sentence for "other" alleged parole violations, including traveling outside a 50-mile area without the approval of his parole officer.
