Singer/Rapper Lauryn Hill shot in Brooklyn

NEW YORK (CNN) -- Singer/Rapper Lauryn Hill, from the hip-hop group 'The Fugees' suffered several gunshot wounds to the lower-back, forearm, and buttocks while leaving a friends house in Brooklyn. According to witnesses, the young rap star began to enter her vehicle, when two males in their early twenties, one latino, one black, approached her from behind, yelled derogatory comments, and fired 5 shots, 3 which hit Hill. Witnesses say that the two men headed east in a get-away car, and was described to be a "black SUV." Paramedics arrived at the scene approximately 10 minutes later, and found Hill slouched over in the front seat, with her legs sticking outside of the vehicle. Hill was immediately rushed to Cedar-Sinai Medical Center, and is currently in critical condition.
