D&D Studios and D&D Records prosper in the Manhattan heat

World renowned New York recording facility, D&D Studios, and its up and

coming offshoot record label, D&D Records are set to make the summer of 1999 the hottest ever. On the studio side of things, everyone from Gang Starr to Tony Touch to Doo Wop and M.O.P. has been seen lurking through the Midtown Manhattan Aural Emporium. Recently, The Sporty Thieves recorded the current Billboard #1 Rap single, "No Pigeons," in the House that Hip Hop built on West 37th.

Things look just as hot for the upstart D&D Records, as they are set to

release two albums at the end of this summer. The first release will be a veritable Who's Who of Hip Hop luminaries, as D&D/K-Tel let fly a piece of history, with the "Best of D&D Studios, Hip Hop Volume 1." Packed with tracks by the Notorious B.I.G., Gang Starr, Nas, Jay-Z, M.O.P., and numerous other members of the extended D&D Family,The Album has a hot original joint that will be hitting the street soon called "Ghetto Like D&D" Feat: Krumb Snatcha,Teflon,Q Ball & Curt Cazal (QNC),Starang(BCC),Afu-Ra,Fat Cat Kareem and Jane Blaze. Produced by Curt Cazal Of "QNC" This Joint is blazing !! "Best of D&D Studios, Hip Hop Volume 1" is a surefire gem for any Hip Hop connoisseur's deck.

Also scheduled for release in the Late summer/Early fall, is the highly

anticipated debut album from D&D/Gee Street recording artist Afu-Ra, entitled "Body of the Life Force." Featuring appearances from GZA, Cocoa Brovas,

Ky-Mani, M.O.P., and Guru, amongst others, this DJ Premier Executive produced album is off the hook. Oh, did I mention that Primo also produced 5 tracks? DJ Muggs, Da Beatminerz and Tru Master also lend their production skills to "Body of the Life Force."

Another shot from the D&D/Gee Street combo will be a
new single from
QNC. The
follow up to "Repertoire," a song that went to #1 on
Gavin and #2 on
Hits,
will be released in August.
