And the Winner is...

URBANEARTH.COM

Tonight on CBS, the 42nd Annual Grammy Awards will be monopolizing T.V.'s all over the country. With a total of 98 categories to run through in one evening, 3 have been dedicated to the "Rap" genre. Here are the nominees and a few comments from your favorite website (that would be us):

BEST RAP SOLO PERFORMANCE

Gimme Some More - Busta Rhymes
My Name Is - Eminem
Vivrant Thing - Q-Tip
Wild Wild West - Will Smith featuring Dru Hill & Kool Mo Dee
Changes - 2Pac

UE says: First off, should Big Willie be in this category? He is a solo artist, but his song features Dru Hill and Kool Moe Dee. So we're wondering why the special treatment here. Anyways, Em is too much a bad boy to win this I think. It's gonna go to either Big Willie or Q-Tip. Most likely Big Willie. After all he does have a long lasting relationship with the Grammy's. Lets run down the former Fresh Prince's list of awards:

1998 - Best Rap Performance (DJ Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince) 1991 - Best Rap Dup/Group (DJ Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince) 1997 - Best Rap Solo (Will Smith for "Men In Black") 1998 - Best Rap Solo (Will Smith for "Gettin' Jiggy Wit it")

BEST RAP PERFORMANCE BY A DUO OR GROUP

What's It Gonna Be?! - Busta Rhymes featuring Janet Jackson
Satisfy You - Puff Daddy featuring R. Kelly
Still D.R.E. - Dr. Dre featuring Snoop Dogg
Guilty Conscience - Eminem & Dr. Dre
You Got Me - The Roots featuring Erykah Badu

UE says: Personal taste picks The Roots for this category. "You Got Me" is a great song and the Roots deserve it. But curiosity killed the cat - What if there was a tie between "Still D.R.E." and "Guilty Conscience?" Yeah - Snoop, Dre' and Em live on stage at the Grammy's.

BEST RAP ALBUM

E.L.E. (Extinction Level Event - The Final World Front) - Busta Rhymes
Da Real World - Missy "Misdemeanor" Elliott
The Slim Shady LP - Eminem
I Am - Nas
Things Fall Apart - The Roots

UE says: The Roots better win this one or there will be hell to pay. If EM wins, we won't be as upset as we would be if Missy or Nas won.
