SOURCE NOT STATED IN THE POST

Rapper 50 Cent will follow his mentor (Eminem) and turn his attention to the big screen.

According to Britisch news reports, 50 will make his movie debut in the "semi-autobiographical" drama Locked and Loaded. In the movie, he will play a former drug dealer who gives up a life of crime to pursue a music career. The film will be produced by the same team behind Eminem's 2002 debut 8 Mile. Terence Winter, writer and executive producer of "The Sopranos", is writing the screenplay. The film is expected to be released in 2005 or 2006.

It will be produced by Jimmy Iovine of Interscope Geffen and Eminem's manager Paul Rosenberg, as part of their first-look feature film deal with MTV Films and Paramount Pictures. Iovine and Rosenberg served as producer and executive producer respectively on 8 Mile which starred Eminem and was loosely based on his early life. 8 Mile grossed almost $117m at American box offices and won an Academy Award for best original song.
