Snoop slapped with lawsuit

According to the Associated Press, a Virginia concert promoter hit Snoop Dogg with a $1 million dollar lawsuit while the rapper was on stage during a performance at the Virginia Beach Amphitheater on Wednesday.
In 1997, a Richmond lawyer, Joseph W. Kaestner, filed suit against Calvin Broadus, better known as rapper Snoop Dogg. However, because Snoop lives in California and appears infrequently in Virginia, Kaestner could not serve the state court lawsuit on him.
According to the suit, Snoop tricked music promoter Patricia Ann Richardson into picking up three FedEx packages at a Petersburg motel in January 1997. The boxes contained seven pounds of marijuana. Richardson contends she did not know marijuana was in the packages until police stopped her at Club Flava, a Petersburg establishment where she was promoting one of Snoop's concerts. No one was was arrested, but Richardson was searched, handcuffed and questioned at a Petersburg police station, according to the suit.
Snoop has 20 days to file a formal response.
