RUSSELL SIMMONS' is about to do another Hip-Hop Summit Action Network in 2003 and this year he will will present the Hip-Hop Summit April 26th at Cobo Arena in Detroit.
Joining him will be Detroit native EMINEM, Detroit Mayor KWAME KILPATRICK, Motown Records founder BERRY GORDY JR. and many others in a serious of seminars on all aspects of hip-hop culture. Russell says, "Embracing young people and their struggle, and embracing those people that have been locked out and not talked about, that's our job." The summit is a part of the NAACP's Freedom Weekend during which Russell will be honored with a lifetime achievement award."
