The wonderful Blockhead has his debut EP 'Insomniac Olympics' out again. With a solid background in underground hip hop Blockhead produced much of the material on Aesop Rock's Def Jux albums. There are a very few producers working in hip hop or its related disciplines who can take a tune and keep developing it over the space of a song, let alone distill so much emotion into every note, making it melancholy and strangely uplifting all at the same time. Released on limited picture disk in December 2003, the 'black vinyl' version with new artwork is out now.
