Rapper Special Ed accuses police of brutality

The New York Police Department is investigating an alleged police brutality incident based on claims that rapper Special Ed (a.k.a. Edward Archer) and his brother, Andrew, were assaulted by undercover officers in their Brooklyn, N.Y., home. "The incident is currently under investigation," NYPD public information office spokeswoman Cheryl Cox said Tuesday. Cox added, however, that "very little is known right now." Special Ed, 26, and his brother are accusing Brooklyn police of pistol-whipping them after their father filed a harassment complaint based on an incident in which undercover officers were allegedly denied access to the family's backyard while chasing a suspect. The brothers are reportedly planning to file a suit against the department. Cox said the incident took place on the night of July 28 at the Archer family home in the East Flatbush section of Brooklyn.
