R. Kelly Doesn’t Want His Transgender Son To Be Referred To As A Male How sad for R. Kelly’s son, Jay.
The 37-year-old R&B singer has finally reacted to the news that his 13-year-old daughter, Jaya, is a transgender teenager who now goes by the name Jay.
When asked about Jay’s transformation, R. Kelly told WGCI: “You don’t really wanna open it up by saying my daughter is becoming my son, because if that were true… Don’t even give the blogs that kind of credit. You know what I’m saying? Real talk.”
Even though Jay has been very open about his transgender identity on social media, it seems as if R. Kelly is trying to make it seem like it’s all just speculation in the media.
On June 24, Jay acknowledged his identity once again on his Ask.fm account, saying: “[...] i’m transgender and the son of r.kelly.”
Hopefully R. Kelly will one day be able to accept his son’s true identity. Until then, at least he is still financially supportive of his children.
“You save money so your kids can go to college—no matter what they are or who they are. They’re still your kids, you gotta support them,” R. Kelly said during the very same interview.
