Police increase vigilance at Providence Place after melee

PROVIDENCE, R.I. Providence police say they're being more vigilant at Providence Place, where a melee broke out on Friday night that police believe was linked to the movie "Get Rich or Die Tryin'," starring the rapper 50 Cent.

Police reported no major problems last night, but The Providence Journal reports the movie theater at the mall canceled five late-night showings of the film last night.

Meanwhile, police arrested six people, including a Providence Place security officer, from the Friday night disturbances that involved more than 100 people.
