Nas Fulfilling Prophecy

HIPHOPDX.COM — BY J-23

Nas Fulfilling Prophecy Thursday - October 3, 2002 J-23 Remember when Nas was the victim of Makaveli's venom? It was "Against All Odds" from the Makaveli album, Pac accused Nas of being a biter and wanting to be him. Maybe hanging around with Ja Rule has instilled that feeling within Nas because he seems to be living up to Pac's words.

After sampling Tupac in "The Pledge RMX" from his song "So Many Tears," Nas is now taking the title of the song entirely. The song in question will likely be the lead single for "God's Son," according to Nas.

He told MTV, "It's some real touching topics we touching on in that song. I got the beat and I was just like damn, AZ need to get on this so I called him up, we hit the studio the next day and it was beautiful, me and were just zoned in, we banged that track out and that was that. We was on some real shit, just about all the messed up stuff we seen throughout our lives. Irv heard the joint and he flipped and was just like 'Yo, this is incredible, but we gotta get on the hook'. We got her on there, I heard the final product and I knew this had to be the single."
