Mase to do 50-state religious tour

Yesterday, Mase brought his message to the University of Montana - the first location of his 50-state tour on behalf of his evangelical church.

Appearing before a crowd of roughly 80 in a black military-style jacket, jeans and classic Air Jordans, Betha explained his transformation from rapper to clergyman.

"I thought I had things pretty good. I thought my life was in good shape," Betha said. "And God said, 'No. All along I wanted you to be this person who would go around the entire world and tell the people about Jesus.'"

Mase told the impressionable crowd, it took him five years to realize how he could best spread his message and reconcile his beliefs with the fast world of the music industry.

"I began to realize the difference between being blessed and being rich," Betha said. "Even when I was out there doing music, even now I have a lot of money, but that's not about anything. I realized I needed Jesus in my life."

Betha went on to confess that his ultimate goal was to get the whole hip-hop industry to accept Christianity.
