"How Can I Be Down," the hip-hop industry conference that spent five years in Miami Beach is headed abroad. Peter Thomas and Timezone International are taking the event to London, as hyped on their new festival Web site www.hcibd.com announced.
The flashy site gives you everything you need to know about the upcoming festival set for May 11-14 in London at the Hotel Cumberland. The nation's largest urban music conference, which takes a backstage look into the business, culture and fashions of hip-hop, was held at the Shelborne Beach Resort on Columbus Day weekend last year.
Thomas brought the four-day conference to South Florida in 1993 and held it here until 1997, when clashes with Miami Beach officials chased it away. It returned last October. So now, they are taking things overseas. Be sure to peep the site for all the latest information on this phat event.
