Faith & Voletta File Wrongful Death Suit in Biggie Murder

It's been five years since the murder of Notorious B.I.G. and it remains unsolved. Biggie's widow, Faith Evans and his mother, Voletta Wallace aren't too happy about either. Evans and Wallace have filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the LAPD, its officers and the city of Los Angeles. The suit specifically names L.A. police chief Bernard Parks, former chiefs Willie Williams, Bayan Lewis, former officer David Mack and L.A. resident Amir Muhammed.
The suit claims that "defendant Parks intentionally, willfully, and recklessly delayed and stopped the investigation as soon as it became apparent officers employed by the Los Angeles Police Department were involved in the murder."
The suit was filed on behalf of Big's son, daughter, and daughter's guardian in addition to Evans and Wallace for an unspecified amount of damages. The suit also claims that the LAPD could have done more to prevent the murder given the investigation of Tupac Shakur's murder six months earlier.
"Certain persons intimately associated with Death Row Records and an affiliated street gang had consistently exhibited significant animosity toward [B.I.G.] and his record label and blamed Wallace and his record label for the death of Shakur," the suit reads.
The LAPD has yet to release a statement on the suit.
