The ongoing feud between Eminem and the Source magazine has shifted to the courtroom. On Tuesday (December 16), a federal court judge granted Eminem an injunction barring the magazine from including copies of a song by Eminem that featured racially derogatory lyrics in the magazine's February issue, which was slated to hit newsstands on January 13.
Eminem and his lawyers filed the lawsuit in federal court in New York on Monday (December 15) which accused the magazine of copyright infringement. Eminem is also seeking unspecified damages.
In November, the Source magazine held a press conference to play a tape of a recording from Eminem that featured racially derogatory comments about African American women. Eminem released a formal apology citing his age and a recent breakup with an African American woman as the reasons for the racially derogatory comments.
The magazine countered that Eminem lied about being 15 years old at the time of the recording and that he was actually 21 years old.
