D'ANGELO MAY TOUR WITH COMMON, MOS DEF & Q-TIP

We ain't ones to gossip, so you ain't heard this from us... Sexy soul crooner, D'Angelo is mapping out a U.S. tour and hopes to put together a hip-hop heavy bill for the outing. D'Angelo, whose Voodoo will remain at number one on the album chart next week, will kick off his tour on March 1 with the first of five nights at Los Angeles' House Of Blues. While the singer's record label, Virgin Records, says that his itinerary could change, the current plan sees D'Angelo play multiple nights in Atlanta, New York, Philadelphia, Washington, Chicago, Oakland, Los Angeles, Houston, and Detroit while hitting 17 other cities for one-night stands. D'Angelo described the jawn as "a funk extravaganza" and said that he has his eye on some high profile support. "We're looking at Mos Def, Common, and Q-Tip, and different squads," D'Angelo said of the tour's possible lineup. "?uestlove, Roy Hargrove is gonna be there, Pino Palladino, we're gonna have the whole squad out there, The Soultronics." D'Angelo is already holed up in a New York City rehearsal studio doing some preparation for the tour.
